Please post your comments on how you feel about PR and SEO with Google, would appreate peoples comments too on how you feel about the whole issue and your own experiences if anything like many genuine UK Business i have heard from. Many small business averages $15,000 spend a month on Google adwords. At One time we had a PR of 5. We out sourced our SEO work to a "SEO Specialist" Well, that's what he said he was.This was to cut down on costs has we felt the UK was going into a recession and saw people's spending decrease this year. Within 2 months of hiring the SEO expert AKA the Muppet now, our rank had got dropped to 3 Erggg and we was loosing free listing results on google obviously many people's main traffic source iof traffic like most people rely on for extra sales.

So i stopped the SEO company from working on our site and started to investigate for myself has a company Director. Its my responsibility to my staff for keeping our company a float and being able to pay wages etc. They have families to support and mouths to feed.The SEO work that was done, lets say basically ruined our rank and decreased our traffic. After further findingsand looking at SEO terminology i found out very worrying problems.The SEO guy was linking our site to Link farms, inbound and outbound links to Spam sites etc etc, you get the jist.I know now never to give someone FTP access ;o( or you can get screwed like us......So this last month i have started from the start myself. Killed all outbound links from our site and re written the meta tags to Goolge guide lines to the best of my knowledge. In this process ive had to learn basically knowledge of PHP and HTMLto help me implement the work. Also now ive started to add only Valid outbound links to manufactures sites with rank and content relevance to our products, reviews and articles etc. I have now noticed that we have started to clime for keywords again but what is really causing the climb? Google can take two months to show results on rank etc, so are we goign round in circles on each google algorithm update.


Using google Content analysis on the way. Im having some issues with Duplicate meta descriptions & Duplicate title tags because we are a product company we may list 10 products on page one and 10 on page two for load time. but these get classed has Duplicate meta descriptions & Duplicate title tags, how do you get rounds that. im still a novice, but understand why. With a database its hard to redue meta for another page of the same. ANYWAY It was because of a Google post i totally am redoing our SEO myself. In simply words, this post by Matt a Google employee That we are starting again and again. The Google post is very honest and mostly probably the best ever insight i have had to G SEO even thou it does not help in many ways has you still need to be a large company of have a unique brand to do well. We are a unique brand "My New Cheap" type it into google and we are number one but how many people search for this term compared to searches for Cheap GPS?


This may not say a lot about my understanding of SEO but i think this post tells you what you should be doing to help your ranking on google. Ive had account with Google adwords lets say pretty much from the start and like many have spent approx $1,000.000 USD Yes a million Dollars. So now 7 years later having to reduce our SEO Because some SEO EXPERT " AKA NOW THE JERK" Ruined our PR and im having to do SEO again. What gets me is none of this was our error but some SEO Conman can have this effect on your business without you knowing shit about it. We hire guys to do sales and guys to do the accounts etc etc and we can see what they have done and keep a close eye. Google have made SEO so complicated for any business to understand and its easy to hire a SEO GUY and expect a job to be done but be worse of in the pocket and have also been banned from Google.

I feel in a way Google has let me down has a business owner who has spent a considerable amount of money with G and referred many of businesses to use them because of no real contact with them or a account manager or something to tell us your SEO guy is breaking the rules STOP IT....Otherwise how would i know we are getting ripped off. What service do i get from Google for 10K a month? I get paid for traffic on the one hand and penalised on the other. Come on Google sort it out, don't penalise your customers.

Yes i am small fry trying to make a buck and stay in business but small fry like me helped G to be the biggest business on the planet. lets all face it we did. Honestly i can say all i see now daily is price comparison engines killing the product market and helping the Big boys stay on top, lets face it they have the buying power for products and will always be cheaper than me and the next guy. They get google account mangers, they have the money to speak to google about traffic etc. We have created a beast and now it will never been tamed. SO where do i go from here Mr Google Man. Who wants to link to mynewcheap shopping when they can get paid by Halfords, amazon, Ebay to link to them in a legitimate way and get paid more. It gets harder everyday to compete and gets more expensive to live.


Google owns the web in my eyes. They can make or break your business by a decision on how to rank and give you traffic. High oil prices are not only changing the political and economic landscapes but Google has a hand too.... Google are stimulating the most widespread drive for technological innovation on the web we have ever seen bringing more and more experts together each day. Google want Captialism in one hand and piant the picture of a free web society in the other. Are Google doing it to satisfy people's needs? But are any of us doing it to satisfy people's needs? No we are all in the rat race to make money. Why do we want to make Money? For some making money is a way of letting people know you have succeed in life, by a measure of your wealth. Very few want to be remembered for inventing the toilet roll or the next Barbie doll and lets face it who care's. They care what money they made form the Barbie Doll's so they could have a comfortable happy life and give there family what they want. That's all most people want and obviously the Fat greedy people always want more. Has Google become fat and Greedy and just dishes out excuses now on SEO. Does it just want more Businesses to pay for advertising?


If you have something unique keep it and go with it..... G likes unquie names and brands, Google is Goolge. You search for Google you get Google, get your brand out there. Lets just hope G see sense and funds 4400 to make season 5.
